Yeah. Happiness is the end of our attitude towards pleasure and pain. Death is the end of pleasure and pain. Death does the trick, but it's possible to be happy before death.
I donno, life is pretty cool? My suffering attitude is gradually getting weaker, too. Certainly nowhere near intense enough for me to want the experience to be over

But for instance if I had strong chronic pain, even if there was no suffering added on top, Id probably kill myself
Yeah no, negative to 0, as far as our attitude goes. Anything else is not "happiness" (peace of mind) but emotional pleasure. (Nothing wrong with pleasure, of course!)
From my point of view, souls don't exist, so that's already a big wrench in the works. I take "soul" to be a rough stand in for "is a real tulpa" - I feel that encouraging people towards more agency in regards to their tulpa is good, but I prefer to come at it from the "hey, your tulpa can have X through Y" vs the "your tulpa has no soul" angle.

Plus I feel the entire idea of "souls exist independently of the body" is based on the idea that "well this life includes too much pain, but at least if I play by Yahweh's rules, I'll get more pleasure in the afterlife"
or the other one, if you avoid pain too much and live a life of indulgences, you're really doing yourself wrong because you won't end up in the fun painfree place

Plenty of luxuries are white elephants, lots of maintence involved in managing wealth
I wouldn't say just being rich makes a person lazy or not a hard worker
And some people work very hard in their youth and then retire off their money and investements, that's not bad, unless they have more to give/gave up on society/humanity and are going off the rails binging coke and having orgies, maybe that's questionable
Yeah I think most people believe that. IMO its based on the same false beliefs. "I need to work hard on improving myself because Im not a good enough person as is"
if I could just do whatever things I wanted, including all the things I think are immoral and wrong and bad, and call it "good enough"
With how I think now, you can't look at bad things and call them any sort of good, it's not "good enough", there's no acceptable level of sin, but it's like, don't freak out, everyone is like that

when you freak out about an inherently sinful nature is when things get weird and men try to make themselves out as gods and control you, because a very strong drive emerges- "how can I be free from being bad??? I don't want that!"

but if you know the guy up on the pulpit is the same way in the end, it's not so bad, everyone is in it together
If I did things I thought were bad, I wouldn't call it good enough
also wouldn't call it sin
but if I thought it was bad I'd probably want to fix my behaviour
You wouldnt do things that are painful (towards yourself or others) even if you stopped labeling them as morally wrong, unless you thought that the resulting pleasure would outweigh the pain (or if you were unaware of the pain it might cause)
